Pastor Geneva Shy accepted Christ in her life December 1971, she accepted the call to preach years later, she faithfully served in youth ministry, teaching Sunday school, and the ministry of helps for many years,
God called pastor Geneva to serve as Co-Pastor of Family Outreach Church ministries with her husband, Founder and Senior pastor Earl Shy Sr. she works faithfully along with her husband to equip the saints for the work of the ministry
She is an anointed Holy Ghost-filled woman of God, whose very purpose is to please God. She is impacting the lives of those she come in contact with. Her motto is “I will be better and not bitter”
Pastor Geneva has a passion for prayer, and she is a Prayer Warrior, she believes that ministry is birthed through travailing in prayer “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. James 5:16
Pastor Geneva also has a deep desire to see women empowered with the word and proper self-esteem realizing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, and also for marriage ministry along with her husband they desire to see marriages represent Christ and the Church, her passion is also for the youth and the elderly bridging the gap combining the wisdom of the elderly with the strength of the young so that they both can understand their purpose
Apostle Earl F. Shy, Sr. is the founder and overseer of “Family Outreach Church Ministries, Inc.”, and “Shy Evangelistic Ministries” of New Bern, North Carolina. He is married to his Lady-Elect Geneva B. Shy, Co-Pastor and co-founder of the Ministries. They have been married for forty-one years and have raised four saved and anointed children that are also working in ministry. Pastor Shy accepted salvation in 1971 and received the call into the ministry in 1984.
Pastor Shy remained faithful in one church ministry for thirty-six years under two pastors serving along with his wife as program director, men’s board chairman, chairman of the board of elders of the Incorporation. He and his wife were over the marriage ministry of the church, as well as personal assistant to their pastor serving as armor-bearer and intercessor. He attended U.B.I. (Undenominational Bible Institute) of New Bern, NC and has studies in Theology. He also has a personal degree in “knee-ology”, emanating from much prayer.
Pastor Shy is no novice to servitude. He knows that if you are going to lead God’s people, you must first learn how to follow and serve.God placed in his heart to step out on faith and start a ministry from foundation. Using the principles of the family structure, “Family Outreach” was established.
