Our

History

Family Outreach Church Ministries was birthed out of the hearts of Pastors Earl and Geneva Shy. God placed in their hearts to start Ministry from the ground floor, so after much prayer and struggling with inner conflicts making sure they were in the will of God they started in their home with their mothers, Annie Mae Bess and Mother Ina Mae Shy; their daughter Shamella Shy Rosario; and her two babies. They faithfully proceeded to do what God had called them to do. Some came and some went but they ministered as if the house was full. Soon God opened a door at Highways and Hedges Revival Center (Bishop Curtis Brown) in a small room to have service. Soon after that, the room became too small and they stepped out on faith and moved to a larger building.

At the same time the pastors were seeking God for a covering, which led to a kingdom connection with Bishop Holly Raby of Word of God Christian Center. Bishop Raby became the Overseer of Family Outreach Church Ministries. After the rent continued to increase, making it difficult to maintain obligations, the pastors sought the Lord as to what to do next. And they heard the word “search”. They gave that word to the church members, and the search was on. God gave us our present place of worship. The people had a mind to work, and they put their hands to the task – turning a broken down shell of a building into the sanctuary we now proudly worship in.

But this is just the beginning…
